We contracted with Ida to help us redecorate our shore house. The project consisted of new flooring everywhere but bedrooms, new living room furniture and lighting, kitchen and bathroom face-lifts, all new window treatments, and completely repainting the interior. Ida took the time and asked great questions in order to understand our aesthetic. Ida listened to our needs, particularly with regard to budget and timeframe. Ida did a great job coordinating with all the vendors and sub-contractors - not easy considering the job was several hours away. In addition to giving us a beautiful home, Ida brought the entire project in right on budget and within the timeframe we hoped for. Our new house hadn’t been updated in forty years.  The moment we got over our initial excitement, we were overwhelmed by the task before us.  We knew most of what we wanted done but had no idea of where to begin or how to go about getting the work done.  Thank goodness for Ida.  Without batting an eye she agreed to help.  She walked through the house and helped us figure out how to proceed and connected us with wonderful contractors to do the work.  We now have our dream kitchen and love to show off our historic home.  Thank you Ida!

I knew my living space needed a refresh.  The big challenges to me were my complete inability to envision it, small space and not much light.  I had been to a couple of home shows in the year or two leading up to it. Two different times the most memorable were rooms designed by Ida McCausland.  A lot of time passed between the home shows and my plan to redecorate but fortunately I still had Ida’s business card. I wasn’t sure she would take my project because it was so small but I was thrilled when she agreed.  What a transformation! Before we even picked new furniture it was like a new house when we refinished the floors, removed built in book shelves and lightened the wall colors. I never knew it could feel so much bigger and brighter.  

I was always in a rush and two steps ahead of myself but Ida was great at reigning me in.  Let’s do this first, let’s wait for that next. It felt like a lifetime but it really took the exact amount of time she said it would.  And every time she said to wait she was right. She made it so easy to make decisions. It didn’t take long for her to get a sense of things I liked.  We’d flip through fabrics tagging the ones I liked and easily narrowing down from that. Same for rugs, lamps, tables, window treatments, artwork – everything!  My dark little space was transformed into a bright and beautiful place to live and share with friends and family.

My renovation was in 2014.  In 2017, I made a decision to move.  I showed my house furnished and thanks to Ida’s makeover, the first person to see it made an offer the 2nd day it was on the market!

As hard as it was to believe, the living room and dining room look even more spectacular in the new house which is considerably larger.

Ida is amazing!  She has fantastic vision for spaces of all sizes.  She is uniquely talented, delightful to work with and very fairly priced.  She taught me how to find and embrace my own unique style. My home is my sanctuary.  Elegance and comfort define my space thanks to Ida.
